2. On transformational impact - how may leaders transform the places we live in - assess the enablers and obstacles
3. On power - what does it take to reach beyond cumulative institutional power?
4. On a critical issue - select a specific topic and present your view on it
5. On you - assess you own leadership potential and make a personal leadership development plan
A snappy introduction - present your argument
* An opening thesis summarises what your mini-essay is all about.
* It is a sign post providing a sense of direction and calling for justification for your thinking
Convince a reader of solidity of your argument
* Justify your argument by using the course material
Concise conclusion
* Do not just repeat yourself, no repetitive summary of everything said
* Zoom out and return to the question you started with
* What are the implications of your argument? Where could this discussion go from here?
* You may come back to a key concept that you discussed and suggest how writing the essay has changed your perspective (or strengthened it)
* Formulate a research question to guide your reading and writing
* Avoid generalizations or black and white arguments
* Use your own words
* Avoid empty words (thought-provoking, fascinating, interesting, important, etc.)
* Spot circular arguments and get rid of them
* Make sure all the sentences are logically connected and in combination express your thinking.
