Ahmed Farooq
I have more than 20 years of software development and testing experience, with more than 16 years of designing and developing Haptic/ Multimodal devices. I have a PostDoc in Multimodal Interaction, a PhD in Interactive Technology and an MS in Software Development both focusing on Multimodal Interaction with emphasis on Haptic UIs. I am now working at TAUCHI as a Senior Researcher and Permanent Lecturer developing multimodal systems to enhance haptic feedback in a wide range of applications and environments. My core research interests involve designing and studying haptic signal mediation in vibrotactile actuation as well as developing passive and active mediation techniques to revolutionize haptic / multimodal interaction in 2D / 3D virtual environments. I also have a keen interest in developing complex vibrotactile signals for comprehensive tactile simulation for touchscreen and gesture base interaction. Using these techniques have have developed Implantable Actuation concepts to enhance direct skin stimulation My recent research also involves creating and fine-tuning Large Language and Large Action Models (TAUCHI-GPT) using custom developed Chain of Though (CoT) implementations. Currently I am investigating security and privacy issues with LLMs and Large Action Models through Prompt Injection and scenario camouflaging using prompt obfuscation.
