The lecture material dated on 2022 will be completed after the current course. No changes expected. Lecture video recordings from previous years can be found here: https://iki.fi/trantala/opetus/files/FYS.425-Quantum.Theory.of.Electronic.Structures/Video/recordings.txt The lectures 2022 are carried out in hybrid form, i.e., both in SG312 and with Zoom at https://tuni.zoom.us/j/8405433506 Meeting ID: 840 543 3506 starting on Tuesday the 30 August at 10:15. FYS.250 Physics seminar, 2021-22 on Thursdays starting at 12:15 with Zoom, Meeting ID: 840 543 3506, https://tuni.zoom.us/j/8405433506 Furthermore, the lectures will be implemented using the "flipped method", which are mostly built on the video recordings and the key issues of the substance/content of the course, given in advance. The list of the key issues is here: https://iki.fi/trantala/opetus/files/FYS.425-Quantum.Theory.of.Electronic.Structures/FYS.425-Exam-problems.pdf In addition, there will be weekly homework problems to solve and the related contact session on Thursdays in SG312. Active participation will raise the final grading. The final exam will present 6 problems, out of which the participant should choose 5 to work out. Half of the 6 problems will be chosen from the key issue list discussed above, directly. Then, at least 2 problems will be the same or closely related to the homework problems. Only the final exam will be evaluated but nothing else is compulsory to pass the course. Thus, to pass the course only an accepted exam is needed. However, it is recommended to see the lecture videos in advance and participation in the discussions during and after the two weekly flipped hybrid lectures. Also, participation in homework elaboration and related contact sessions is highly recommended. There are also MOODLE and SISU activated to provide the most of information, above, and also, to be used as on-line information channels. - - - - -
