Dr. Petri Nokelainen is a Full Professor (Engineering Pedagogy) in the Tampere University (TAU), Finland. He is also Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampere (Vocational Education), the University of Helsinki (Methodology), and the Tallinn University (Education). Professor Nokelainen is the leader of the Professional Growth and Learning research group. His research interests include engineering higher education (regulation of learning and active learning methods), professional growth (workplace learning and mentoring), development of professional and vocational excellence (self-regulation, competence), technology enhanced learning (pedagogical usability, learning analytics), and applied multivariate and Bayesian methods (hybrid modeling, psychometrics). He has published 140 scientific publications mainly internationally, including original articles, review articles, book chapters, proceedings articles and books. He is the Chief Editor of Journal of Vocational and Professional Education, Board Member of VETNET (European Educational Research Association) and Finnish Vocational Research Association (OTTU), and Editorial Board Member of three scientific journals (incl. Vocations and Learning).
