RESEARCH EXPERTISE & ACTIVITY

In 2001 Dr. Evreinov has been given a research grant for 10 months by Academy of Finland (grant 74777).

In 2002-2003 he worked as an Assistant Professor in Tampere University Computer Human Interaction Unit (Lectures in New Interaction Techniques, Seminars in Alternative Communication and Access to Information). The Seminars in 2005: Alternative Access: Feelings & Games.

Then Dr. Evreinov worked as a Senior Researcher in the project SKILLS (Multimodal Interfaces for Capturing and Transfer of Skills (funded by EU, Project IST-2006-035005, 2006-2010), HapticAuto funded by Tekes, (2011-2013).

Currently he is working as a Senior Researcher (a permanent position) according to his expertise and involved in collaborative research with industrial partners (Fukoku Ltd., Japan).

Earlier, Dr. Evreinov was involved as an expert in collaborative project MobileHaptics (funded by Tekes, 2006-2008) and he was the project-leader in other projects funded by Academy of Finland:

- An Exploration of the Depth Perception and Non-Pictorial Cues in Haptically Reinforced Interaction with 3d Images (grant No 127774, 01.01.2009 - 31.12.2012)

- Impact of Modal-Redistributed Feedback on User Behavior (grant 200761, 01.01.2003 - 31.12.2006)

- Development of Non-Visual Interaction for Mobile Devices  (grant 107278, 01.01.2005 - 31.12.2007)

Dr. Evreinov has extensive experience in patent work (35 patent applications RU, US, JP, CH, FI) and published over 100 papers (as author and co-author) in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.

 

Guest lecture and tutorials on Multi-modal Interaction for People with Disabilities: Principles and Developments were given at the University of Linz, Austria Nov. 2005.

Invited expert of the International working group in using of the Information and Communication Technology in Education for People with Special Needs (UNESCO IITE, Moscow, 2002, 2000)

Member of International working group (sonification tools) and invited by NSF expert in Data Sonification, Palo Alto, USA, Nov. 1997.

Dr. Evreinov acts as a regular member of Int. Program Committees ICCHP, VISAPP, IHCI, DSAI, IASTED AT; the reviewer of the journal papers and projects in computer science and interactive technology (UAIS, TCSVT, IwC) and an evaluator/reviewer of the European Commission.

Invited reviewer of the “Fonds de rechercher sur la nature et les technologies”, Quebec, Canada.
